TRASIMENO FESTIVAL – ANGELA HEWITT and FRIENDS
with PIERO DELLA FRANCESCA and St FRANCIS

Our fourth visit to the Italian festival, established in a glorious Umbrian setting by the charismatic Canadian concert pianist Angela Hewitt OBE. Recitals are given in the courtyard of a Knights of Malta castle near Lake Trasimeno. Orchestral concerts in churches in Gubbio and Perugia. Anne Sofie von Otter and the Australian String Quartet are among the guest artists.

We fly directly to Perugia from Stansted (dep 07.30, return 16.35) and we stay in a charming hotel right on the lake which makes a relaxing base with its swimming pool and adjoining pier for gentle boat trips to the islands. Even on an excursion day there is time in the afternoon to rest or swim before supper and the 10 minute drive to the concert.



Excursions are made to Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio and Cortona and we follow the Piero della Francesca trail to Arezzo (The True Cross frescoes) - Monterchi (the Madonna del Parto) and Sansepolcro (Resurrection and Madonna della Misericordia).

We have lunches at carefully selected restaurants on our excursions (wine and coffee included).

The concert programme has yet to be released but it is not too early to register your interest.
